American Website Listed Singapore as part of Malaysia
We just blogged about BBC article mentions Yee Sang belongs to Singapore and there is an American website listed Singapore as part of Malaysia. This is TheZoeReport.com. According to the website, The Zoe Report is a trusted destination made for and by women who live and breathe personal style. It is founded by Rachel Zoe in 2009.
The website runs a story of ‘The Most Expensive Cities In The World To Live In, According To Experts’ 14 hours ago. They listed a number of cities which includes Hong Kong, Paris, Zurich, Seoul, Oslo, New York, Luanda and Singapore.
Interestingly, they listed Singapore, Malaysia.
This is what they wrote on their website.
“The Malaysian island city-state’s wealth may have been spotlighted in the recent blockbuster Crazy Rich Asians, but Singapore’s reputation as the most expensive city in the world (ranked by The Economist) has been long held. In fact, according to research conducted by data firm WealthInsight, one in 34 people in Singapore are millionaires. For some perspective, this makes it the sixth most millionaire-dense country in the world and the top across Asia.”
It takes just a couple of minutes to Google Singapore and you can find many information about our neighbour country.
Maybe the write did google and this pops up.
‘Singapore, an island city-state off southern Malaysia, is a global financial center with a tropical climate and multicultural population. Its colonial core centers on the Padang, a cricket field since the 1830s and now flanked by grand buildings such as City Hall, with its 18 Corinthian columns. In Singapore’s circa-1820 Chinatown stands the red-and-gold Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, said to house one of Buddha’s teeth.’
Probably, the writer is confused with the sentence of ‘Singapore, an island city-state off Southern Malaysia’ and hence she wrote ‘the Malaysian island city-state’.
To be honest, it doesn’t take a long time to do research online. Everything can be found with just a few clicks.
Now, we wonder what is next? Malaysia is part of Singapore? You never know.
