Dewakan is the first Malaysian restaurant listed in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant
For the first time ever, a Malaysian restaurant is listed in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant since it is launched in 2013. Dewakan is a popular fine dining restaurant in Kuala Lumpur and listed as the Top 46 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant. The restaurant is also awarded as The Best Restaurant in Malaysia.
Dewakan has been around for years and most established food bloggers had reviewed the restaurant (except us as we were busy chasing our travel dreams). Dewakan is a name of two Malay words, “dewa” which is god while “makan” simply means food. Dewakan means food from god.
The unique thing about this restaurant is it is located in the university campus. Yes, it is located in KDU University College in Glenmarie Shah Alam and you do need to make a reservation for your table.
The chef behind the success of Dewakan is Chef Darren Teoh. He formerly worked with the Les Amis group in Singapore and had many experiences under his hat. To our understanding, the chef offers a modern Malaysian dining experience.
Dewakan offers two menu, Menu Nusantara and Menu Kayangan. Menu Kayangan is priced at RM 370 nett while Menu Nusantara at RM 300 nett. You can make reservations at https://www.dewakan.my/#reservation
Congratulations to Dewakan and Chef Darren Teoh as the first Malaysian restaurant listed in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant. We will come to taste your food one day, hopefully this year if your restaurant is not fully booked.
