Thailand New Carry On Luggage Rules Starting This Weekend
There is new carry on luggage rules starting this weekend in all 28 airports in Thailand. This new rule reported by Sanook a few days ago stating that the Thailand Civil Aviation Authority bans a list of items include food, liquid and cosmetic products.
All items in carry on luggage must be under 100 ml or they cannot come into passenger areas (terminal gates) or carried on planes. The items include toothpaste, shampoo, sauce, jam and even perfume.
There will be signages in Thai shows that popular foods such as curry and “nam prik” (a condiment) are also banned if in sufficient quantity.
Passengers must have less than 1,000 ml of such products and must be sealed in containers specifying the quantity.
The list of the banned items include:
Water, drinks, soup, syrup, jam, stew, sauce, nam prik, foods in sauce, creams, lotions, cosmetics, oil, perfume, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, spray, foam, mascara, lipstick and lip balm.

The list of the banned items is interesting as it includes perfume, mascara, lipstick and so on. We are not sure how it affects duty free items like perfume as it is usually more than 100ml and it is sealed. We will be flying to Thailand this weekend and hope to get more answers for this.
