Vietnam Airlines Offer Mooncake as Dessert during Mid Autumn Festival
Yes, I am back from Japan flying off with Vietnam Airlines. This time I went to stay in Kobe for a few nights as I wanted to do something different. This is my first trip to Japan after three years and also to chill, relax and new contents for my blog, Youtube, IG, Facebook and Tiktok. Before I start talking about Japan, something rather unique happened yesterday. Vietnam Airlines Offer Mooncake as Dessert during Mid Autumn Festival during the inflight menu.
For the first time in my life, there are airlines actually offer mooncake as dessert and it is Vietnam Airlines. Mooncake is very expensive now due to the rising cost of the raw material and it is not cheap to offer it as dessert. This happens during the flight from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur.
For Vietnam airlines to offer it as dessert during mid autumn festival, it is a great gesture for the passengers. Not everyone celebrates mid autumn festival but to have the mooncake on the actual day, it means a lot for the Chinese community.
In Chinese culture, the roundness of the mooncakes means completeness and togetherness. It celebrates on the full moon that symbolizes the prosperity and reunion for the family.
While some of us are away from the family during the Mid Autumn Festival, having a mooncake in the flight offers meaningful gesture and symbol.
Even though the red bean mooncake might not be the best in terms of texture or taste, having it means a lot for many especially the Chinese.
For those who never tried mooncake, this is probably your first and this might not be the best but at least you tried and tasted it.
This is my first time flying with Vietnam Airlines to Japan. The main reason I flew with Vietnam Airlines as it is one of the cheapest airlines to Japan and it is a full service airlines, it comes with inflight meal as well as check in luggage for 23kg.
Lastly, thank you Vietnam Airlines for the mooncake as it means a lot of many people who can’t celebrate Mid Autumn Festival at home this year.
