Almost 50k Malaysians Visited Thailand During Deepavali Week
Since I read the news about over 10k tourists visited Langkawi during the Deepavali weekend, I asked Tourism Authority of Thailand KL about the numbers of Malaysians to Thailand during the same period. The official numbers are out and there were Almost 50k Malaysians Visited Thailand During Deepavali Week.
Let’s talk about the big numbers! From Jan 1 to Nov 12 2023, there are 3.8 million Malaysians visited Thailand. China is second with 2.9m, Korea (1.3m), India (1.3m) and Russia with 1.1m.
Here are the top visitors to Thailand from Jan 1 to Nov 12 2023:
• Malaysia: 3,824,445
• China: 2,902,462
• South Korea: 1,375,958
• India: 1,354,712
• Russia: 1,170,203
During their time in Thailand, they generated revenue of 981.69 billion baht for the Thailand. 981.69 billion baht is around RM 128,895,897,000.00 or RM 128.89 billion.
Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol said the number of Malaysian arrivals rose to 49,919 or 28.65% higher than the previous week.
Almost 50k Malaysians Visited Thailand During Deepavali Week and that is really crazy. Thanks to the new rules at Sadao Checkpoint, it helps the long queue and wait.
