Megah Rise Mall Chinese Restaurant CNY Promotions

Chinese New Year is around the corner and are you planning for festive shopping as well as finding the right restaurant to celebrate? Wait no more as time to check out the community mall, Megah Rise Mall.

This time, I went to Megah Rise Mall and tried three Chinese restaurants that offers Chinese New Year promotions and they are Zhang Yong Buckets Fish, Kheng Wah Restaurant as well as Mama’s Bun and Stewed Fish Restaurant.

Zhang Yong Buckets Fish

Zhang Yong Buckets Fish is located on the first floor of Megah Rise Mall. This is one of the few restaurants in Klang Valley that offers ‘buckets fish’ cuisine as it is currently very popular locally.

For this Chinese New Year, they offer Chinese New Year Set Meals for 10 pax (from RM 656++)

1 x Soup Base (choose from a few different types of flavours). This is fragrant soup base which is flavourful with hints of spiciness after taste.

Tilapia – 4.5kg (you can choose other types of fish but you have to pay additional). The fish is very fresh and it is good to share with 10 pax.

Premium Pork Belly – Good quality pork belly meat

Maling Luncheon Meat – The famous luncheon meat

Australian Beef Striploin

Melty Yolk Shrimp Ball – This shrimp ball comes with salted egg inside. The texture of the ball is good as well as the taste

Spinach

Frozen Tofu – I love this frozen tofu as it has its own character in texture and taste

Steamboat Noodle

Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cake – This is deep fried to crispiness and this is very addictive

Overall, I love the buckets fish concept on the hot stone. I think the food here is fresh and flavourful. The Chinese New Year Set Meals for 10 pax is value of money in my own opinion and you can have the choice for the fish upgrade.

Kheng Wah Restaurant

Kheng Wah is Hong Kong style restaurant and they have a few outlets around Klang Valley. The restaurant is located at the entrance of Megah Rise Mall facing the main road.

For this Chinese New Year festival, Kheng Wah Restaurant offers two Chinese New Year menu. They are the Prosperity Abundance Abalone Slice Yee Sang and Luxurios Feast Pot (5 Pax) – RM 368.00.

Prosperity Abundance Abalone Slice Yee

Luxurios Feast Pot (5 Pax) is traditional poon choy with many ingredients inside the pot such as abalone, scallop, broccoli, sea cucumber, duck meat, prawns, chicken, mushroom and yam.

I love their version of feast pot / poon choy as they use quality ingredients. This is definitely a must if you are celebrating Chinese New Year at home or at Kheng Wah restaurant. You can pre-order this so do contact the restaurant for booking.

Mama’s Buns and Stewed Fish Restaurant

Mama’s Buns and Stewed Fish Restaurant is located on the 1^st floor of Megah Rise Mall. This is a unique restaurant as they offer Dong Bei cuisine from Northeastern China. It is the closest province to Siberia Russia.

Honestly, I never been to Dongbei China and I am here to learn and understand more about their cuisine. At Mama’s Buns and Stewed Fish Restaurant, they offer Iron Pot Stew Package which I never tried before and this is an adventure!

Pork jelly – this looks like radish cake but it is pork jelly. It is not fat but smooth in texture, this is very unique.

Overall, I am impressed with the food here. Dongbei food in general carries hints of saltiness and sour in flavour. Hence, most of the dish here carries that taste note as this is how it taste in Dongbei, the taste of the food is not localised.
