ANA offered new luggage due to damage claim
I wrote about how to claim luggage damage from my flight with ANA in KLIA two months ago. Somehow, my luggage always damaged from trips to Japan. Hence, I claimed my luggage damage in KLIA and the officer told me that representatives from ANA will contact me for the new luggage.
There are two ways to settle the damage claim, either ANA will compensate me with a new luggage or I can take the report and claim with my travel insurance. I tried with travel insurance in the past and it usually settled within one week for the claim.
This time, representative from ANA called me a week after the incident and asked me a few questions. They offered me a new luggage of similar size but different brand. After I did a quick search online, the new luggage price is similar to my Airways Luggage and hence I took the offer.
It takes them around two to three weeks to send the new luggage to my house. I have not used the new luggage yet but it looks good. Hence, this is my experience of ANA offered new luggage due to damage claim.
Please take note that not all airlines offered new luggage due to damage claim. Remember to buy your travel insurance as this luggage damage is pretty common. You might think that expensive luggage brands are durable, yes it is the case but it can be damaged too over a long period of time.
