Zhang Yong Buckets Fish Megah Rise Mall

This is one of the restaurants in Klang Valley that offers the trendy buckets fish dish. The Zhang Yong Buckets Fish is located on the first floor of Megah Rise Mall and the owner is from China and has been around in Malaysia for two decades.

To be honest, this is my first time visiting and tasting the bucket fish cuisine. I was with my friends and they visited a few bucket fish restaurants and they can do comparison after the feast.

For this Chinese New Year, they offer Chinese New Year Set Meals for 10 pax (from RM 656++)

The Chinese New Year Set Meals includes the following:

Prosperity Yee Sang

1 x Soup Base (choose from a few different types of flavours). This is fragrant soup base which is flavourful with hints of spiciness after taste.

Tilapia – 4.5kg (you can choose other types of fish but you have to pay additional). The fish is very fresh and it is good to share with 10 pax.

Premium Pork Belly – Good quality pork belly meat

Maling Luncheon Meat – The famous luncheon meat

Australian Beef Striploin

Melty Yolk Shrimp Ball – This shrimp ball comes with salted egg inside. The texture of the ball is good as well as the taste

Spinach

Frozen Tofu – I love this frozen tofu as it has its own character in texture and taste

Steamboat Noodle

Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cake – This is deep fried to crispiness and this is very addictive

Special Corn Cake

Spike Potatoes

Tasty prawn balls – this is really tasty and addictive. Probably the best prawn balls and it is different from the rest.

Australian strip loin

The buckets fish concept on the hot stone is not gimmick but pretty cool too. I love ‘fragrant soup base’ that is not that spicy so I can enjoy the taste of the fish.

They offered the Tilapia fish and there is nothing wrong with it. Just that it comes with tiny bones and if you want better fish type, just ask them for the pricing and it is not that expensive.

The side dishes are really unique and tasty especially the brown sugar glutinous rice cake. For Chinese cuisine lovers, I believe they are pretty familiar with these food.

Overall, the food at Zhang Yong Buckets Fish Megah Rise Mall is fresh, tasty and unique. The Chinese New Year Set Meals for 10 pax is value of money in my own opinion and you can have the choice for the fish upgrade without breaking the bank. My friends told me this is better than some of the popular buckets fish restaurants out there and there is no long queue for this too!
