Wong Zhi Noodle House Balakong Cheras

This is something interesting to share if you are staying in Cheras. Do you know that Wong Zhi Noodle House just opened their new branch at Balakong Cheras.

It is located on the first floor along Jalan Dataran Cheras 9, the restaurant open from 7.30 am to 3 pm. I know parking is limited around here so do park at the nearby parking field which is 100 metre away.

Wong Zhi Noodle House started in 2020 and it has grew to 40 locations of restaurants and stalls. Their signature dish is Kai Si Hor Fun / Shredded Chicken and Prawn Hor Fun.

If you take a look at their menu, the food prices start from RM 9.50 which is cheap considering this is a restaurant and not a food court or kopitiam.

I recently went to Wong Zhi Noodle House Balakong Cheras for lunch and tasted:

Kai Si Hor Fun /Shredded Chicken and Prawn Hor Fun

The must try is their signature Kai Si Hor Fun / Shredded Chicken and Prawn Hor Fun. This is probably the best in town with the flavourful broth and delicious hor fun.

The reason of their flavourful broth is they have a special pot that has been simmering for months. They will use some of the ‘aged’ broth to cook the Kai Si Hor Fun and hence the flavour is so heavenly.

On top of the broth, do check out at those fresh prawns and generous amount of chicken. The best part is, it is only RM 9.50 per bowl.

Signature Curry Noodle

Not a fan of Kai Si Hor Fun? Why not check out the Signature Curry Noodle? This curry noodle comes with chicken, taufu pork, long beans, fish cake, siham, beansprout, tofu skin and noodles of your choice.

What I like about this is this is the savoury curry is not too spicy and it comes with generous amount of ingredients.

Dry Curry Noodle

This is the dry version of the curry noodles and it is good. This dry curry noodle also comes with chicken, taufu pork, long beans, fish cake, siham, beansprout, tofu skin and noodles of your choice. This dry curry noodle is comfort food for me.

Lala Mee Hoon

I can’t help ordering this as I love lala mee hoon. Their version of lala mee hoon is fragrant with pepper with hints of the Chinese wine.

Bentong Tofu Puff

I ordered the side dish, the Bentong tofu puff and they ordered from Bentong. The tofu puff is huge in size and it is delicious! One bowl is never enough!

Overall, the food here is really good, affordable pricing and our kids really enjoyed it. We will come back again for more! This is the new hidden gem of Balakong Cheras.
