Islamic Centre Canteen, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
This is the last Halal restaurant we tried and recommend in Hong Kong after we were unexpectedly grouped up with a Muslim tour. We understand it is hard to find Halal restaurant in Hong Kong so we came up with a list of Halal restaurants in Hong Kong.
Please read the Halal Food Restaurants Directory for Muslim Visitors in Hong Kong.
Islamic Centre Canteen is located at Wan Chai and we have previously recommended a few Halal restaurants all over Hong Kong including places like Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui and even the HK International Airport.
Weirdly the Islamic Centre Canteen is located at the 5th Floor, Masjid Ammar and Osman, Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre, No. 40, Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai. It is in the mosque building itself.
The restaurant served Halal Chinese food and they were equally good.
The curry mutton was enjoyable and not very spicy. It was priced at (HKD 45 / RM 18 / US$ 6). Loved the way they cooked the potatoes with it, not too soft and not too hard.
Stir Fried Slice Beef with Green Chinese Onion was next. It was priced at (HKD 45 / RM 18 / US$ 6). Simple and a very common Chinese dish and yet delicious.
Braised Garoupa and Beancurd was another savoury dish that we can’t complain. It was priced at (HKD 45 / RM 18 / US$ 6).
Sweet and Sour Chicken was the favourite of the day. Many might have not tasted this because usually this is cooked with pork and the Halal version with chicken was equally good. Crispy boneless chicken coated with thick sweet and sour sauce.
Stir Fried Chinese Cabbage with Chilli Sauce was our first. We never tried stir fried Chinese cabbage with chili sauce before. It was priced at (HKD 25 / RM 10 / US$ 3).
Deep Fried Crispy Taufu with Spicy Salt was well seasoned and yummy. Taufu or beancurd cut into cube sizes and deep fried to crispiness and flavoured with spicy salt. It was priced at (HKD 40 / RM 16 / US$ 5.5).
Lastly, we have Fu-yung Egg or commonly known as Seremban fried egg omelette in Malaysia. Nothing spectacular but was tastefully cooked. It was priced at (HKD 40 / RM 16 / US$ 5.5).
We met new Muslim friends at the centre and they enjoyed the lunch at Islamic Centre Canteen. Some of them went for prayers before we left. A great recommendation by the tour agency and it is highly recommended to our Muslim friends!

Hi,
I am not sure they allow you to use the credit card but the food there won’t cost that much. The restaurant is in the mosque complex.
