Tasmania 2012 Travelogue Day Six: Kate’s Berry Farm, Barilla Bay Oysters, Tas Live Abalone, The Deep and Burger Got Soul

Tasmania 2012 Travelogue Day Six: Kate’s Berry Farm, Barilla Bay Oysters, Tas Live Abalone, The Deep and Burger Got Soul

It is consider my last day in Tasmania as I will be leaving to Sydney on the next morning. Well, there will be another 3 Days 2 Nights Sydney Travelogue (coming soon). This was an emotional day for me as I will be parted with my friends from China, Hong Kong and Singapore. I am also humbled by the guys from Beijing who treated me like a buddy as we had a great drinking session a night earlier.

To start of the day, I travelled to the town of Swansea for Kate’s Berry Farm. It is located near our resort and it took us around 20 min drive to reach this beautiful farm.

Kate’s Berry Farm

Now, there is one farm you not miss if you are in the region of Freycinet. Kate’s Berry Farm is located at Swansea just a couple of kilometres from Freycinet Lodge.

It is not a huge commercial farm you would expect but a farm filled with passion and joy. With the beautiful landscape of the Tasmania’s East coast, you can shop for their fresh fruits or enjoy a cuppa of coffee with their homemade desserts. Either, you enjoy your time there!

Barilla Bay Oysters

Barilla Bay Oysters is one of the largest Tasmanian producers of Pacific oysters, harvesting daily for restaurants and fishmongers throughout Australia. The oysters also find their way, in specially-designed travel packs, to Asia, the United Kingdom and Europe. The Forrest family has been growing oysters in pristine Barilla Bay since 1980 and the location, near Hobart Airport, makes it a convenient stop-over for picnic packs or an oyster-tasting. The contemporary restaurant showcases Barilla Bay oysters and other fine Tasmanian produce.

The beauty of visiting Barilla Bay Oysters is you can dine in their restaurant for their fresh oysters. You don’t just visit the farm but get to taste them as well. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

Desserts at The Deep, Constitution Dock, Hobart, Tasmania

If you have a sweet tooth and looking for a decent place for desserts then you should go to the Constitution Dock. Even though the place is popular with fresh seafood but the desserts there were equally good. For good desserts, you can visit The Deep at Constitution Dock.
