Tiam Fatt Penang Char Kuey Teow Taman Melawati
Tiam Fatt Penang Char Kuey Teow Taman Melawati
In search of the best char kuey teow in Kuala Lumpur, I wandered to Taman Melawati Ampang. It is recommended by my friends and peers as the stall is constantly packed with customers. The name of the stall is Tiam Fatt and he has been around for years.
The stall opens from 7 am to 2 pm daily and they offer Penang char kuey teow, fried loh bak gao (fried raddish cake) and yam cake.
I didn’t bother to go for the second and the third best by ordering their signature special Penang Char Kuey Teow. Their standard Penang CKT starts from RM4.50, RM5.50 (with duck eggs) and RM 10 for their special that comes with three large prawns and duck eggs.
The special plate of Penang char kuey teow comes with sliced fish cakes, Chinese sausages, pork lard, 5 large prawns (even though it stated three) and cockles (siham). This plate of awesome is RM 10 per plate. It was good as expected and Penang style kuey teow tends to be more moisture and softer in texture. For those who preferred Penang style CKT, they will be in love with this.
