San Peng Famous Chicken Rice
San Peng Famous Chicken Rice
I wrote about San Peng prawn mee a couple of weeks ago. It is one of the better places for prawn mee in Kuala Lumpur. You still can read about it at San Peng Prawn Mee at Jalan San Peng.
If you are not a big fan of prawn mee, you can also visit the chicken rice / kuey teow stall nearby. It is located along Jalan San Peng facing the STAR LRT Pudu station.
I don’t fancy kuey teow so I go for the rice. It is hard to ignore those delicious looking steamed chicken and those beautiful char siew even it is just another roadside stall.
Be there before noon, or else you will find a hard time getting a table. Then, make your order. It is either kuey teow or rice, I prefer the latter.
My dad loves their steamed chicken. I won’t disagree with him. The outer layer is smooth and the meat is tender. Even you take away the steamed chicken, they still remains awesome.
Like the chicken, their char siew is good. I always prefer the three layered meat, it is the best of everything.
If you prefer beansprout, it is no harm ordering them too. They compliments well with the chicken and char siew.
The food is good and the price is slightly above average stall price. I don’t mind paying the extra few dollars for satisfying meal.
