Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok
Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok
There are hundreds and hundreds of hotels in Bangkok and choosing the right one is such a headache. In my recent trip to Bangkok, I stayed at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel. It was one of my best stays in Bangkok.
The hotel is strategically located in Sukhumvit just beside the BTS Asok skytrain and MRT Sukhumvit subway stations and also the new Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. If you talk about convenience, this is the right hotel for you to stay.
(My hotel room for three nights)
Don’t be fooled by its age. The hotel features 363 contemporary rooms and suites and they recently refurbish on its rooms and its interior.
(Touch buttons are the norm for most luxury hotels now)
I stayed at the Deluxe Room and I have no complains on the size of the room.
(Welcome fruits at the Westin)
Like many luxury hotel, there is a welcome gift in the room. In Australia, some of the hotels offer chocolates and cheese platters. In Macau, I received a soft toy and most hotels in Bangkok offer fresh fruits. Some might not have “gifts” but notes but these little details are important in hotel hospitality.
(This is the actual view from my room. Look at the blue sky in Bangkok)
Thus, there is nothing better than their renowned Heavenly Bed of the Westin. This is my second Westin stay after Kuala Lumpur but their Heavenly Bed is legendary. In fact, you can purchase them here in Bangkok, contact front desk for more info. They will send the Heavenly Bed to your doorstep where ever you stay!
(There is a must for a huge bathroom to complete a wonderful stay.)
If you have a spacious room, the bathroom should be equally in size too. As expected, they have a bath tub with another section of standing shower. I always love bathrooms with bathtub as you can soak inside the tub after a long day. Especially after a full day of shopping in Bangkok!
(This is how a lunch buffet should serve!)
Where to eat in Westin? During my stay, they are still renovating their new Japanese restaurant but I had my buffet lunch at Taste. Taste is a contemporary all day dining restaurant serving international cuisine.
There are also live band during their weekend buffet lunch. Thus, they have promotions from time to time and extras freebies for SPG members. You won’t be disappointed by the quality of the food at Taste, I assure you.
(You do not need to step out from the hotel for spas, they have the best. The Vareena Spa)
I didn’t waste my time looking for spa as I did my massage at Vareena Spa. It is an inner city sanctuary with private rooms. I don’t mind spending for quality massage at Vareena Spa. If you tried their services, you will understand the value of it.
(For those who wanted to shed some calories, you should visit WestinWORKOUT. They also arrange guest for jogging sessions, please consult them for more info.)
Lastly, you shall not miss the WestinWORKOUT gym. They have the latest gym equipment and you won’t be disappointed with their newest treadmill machines.
(If not seen this kind of treadmill before, have you?)
You can actually select courses and live visuals (on screen) while you are running on the treadmill. Maybe I’ve not been to the newest gyms in the region but I’ve not seen this type of treadmills in many hotels I visited recently.
(Bangkok latest shopping mall, Terminal 21 is just across the road.)
I stayed three awesome nights in Westin Grande Sukhumvit. There is nothing to complain about. Thus I love the hospitality and also the heavenly bed. As it is located beside Terminal 21, I spend most of my time shopping there too. Not forgetting Sukhumvit itself is a shopping and dining paradise! Convenient, good food, cozy stay and I have no complains. They are definitely one of my top choices in Bangkok.
The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok Address:
259 Sukhumvit 19, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok 10110 Thailand
I am ready for the lunch buffet and gym after that…
Wow!
This is one amazing hotel, love the view out from your room, Wilson!
