Restoran Yap Yin & Bak Kut Teh Review
Restoran Yap Yin & Bak Kut Teh Review
This is one of the rare occasions where you visit a bak kut teh restaurant but having something else. Welcome to Restoran (restaurant) Yap Yin & Bak Kut Teh, a restaurant located in Seri Kembangan. Many people described this place as hidden gem due to its popularity with their steamed haruan fish (Sang Yue).
I had dinner there with my family and the restaurant is a house converted restaurant air conditioned and packed during dinner time. Parking could be a hassle but you will get a spot somewhere, you just need to walk a bit.
The dinner started with Stir Fried Choy Sum with Garlic. Vegetable is always best cooked with simple stir fried style. Please do not kill the flavour with fancy sauces, simple stir fried will always bring the flavour out of the vegetables.
Their homemade signature toufu with minced pork is another good dish to order. The toufu has soft texture with crispy skin and it goes well with the sauce and the crunchy texture of fried anchovies.
The fried prawn with salted egg is another comfort food. Prawns deep fried to perfection and stir fried with special salted egg sauce. Thus, I love the texture of the fresh prawns and this is as good as it looks.
Lastly, it is their famous Steamed Haruan (Sang Yue). It is steamed to perfection and you going to love the texture and the taste of the fresh haruan. You will not regret coming here for this (except they overcooked the fish but high unlikely).
I agree with many other positive reviews on this restaurant. Hence, I find their food is good but the price is somehow pricey. Of course, this is based on my own experience and I do take note of the expensive food I ordered.

the fish looks delicious, it’s been a very long time since i had haruan! 😀
Hey that’s a plate of Choy Sum la, not kai lan…lol! 😛 Glad you enjoyed the food here. Everything’s gone up in prices, sigh.
Wow, i’m drooling by just looking at the fish, seems so fresh, hardly can find steamed haruan here, likely to be soup or porridge only
good food.
