Tonkotsu King Four Seasons Bugis Singapore

Tonkotsu King Four Seasons Bugis Singapore

While looking for good food in Singapore, there are two names come into my mind, Camemberu and Keropokman. They helped me for finding the some of the best food places in Lion City even though I haven’t met them in person.

In my recent Singapore food hunting, I finally met up with Keropokman (sorry about no pictures) and his missus. They have the word “friendly” all written on their foreheads and we had fun chatting and eating!

If you are a Japanese ramen lover, keep on reading. The Japanese ramen scene in Malaysia might be blooming but only a few is recommendable. However in Singapore, the Japanese ramen scene is much different. There are plenty of quality Japanese ramen restaurants to recommend and one of them is Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons at Bugis. It is located at 158, Rochor Road, Bugis Village and it just across the Bugis Junction (Bugis MRT).

This is the fourth venture in Singapore by Keisuke Takeda and this restaurant comes with a very unique theme, four seasons. Thus, the restaurant is cleverly designed to four sections with the décor of four seasons; spring, summer, autumn and winter. The trick is it is not just the décor as it goes down to its ramen too.

There are four seasons of ramen with four different types of flavour. I managed to taste two and their “king” version too.

Tonkotsu Ramen Spring

Spring is the season that the colour green starts to dominate. Flowers then start to bloom and this is the similar case with the ramen. It comes with green basil and a scoop of parmesan cheese. Parmesan cheese in a ramen, don’t you just feel like tasting it by reading it? It won’t disappoint you for sure.

Tonkotsu Ramen Autumn

Autumn is the season before winter and usually the brownish orange colour dominates. Same goes to this bowl of autumn ramen with three different types of fried mushrooms and minced pork with bonito flavour. If you are a mushroom lover, you will be indulged with this bowl of ramen.

Tonkotsu Ramen King

When you read the word King, it sounds like the best. The Ramen King is not part of the four season ramen but it is one of those ramen that will leave a great impression.

It comes with stir fried pork with ginger on top with that tasty thick pork broth and for additional $1 you can that large size seaweed and for S$2 for the eggs.

Green Tea Cola

The best drink to compliment the ramen is their edition of green tea cola. I have never heard of green tea cola before but this is the real deal and it actually taste is very refreshing!

Overall, the ramen exceeded my expectation and the key of the taste is their pork bone broth.

The pork bone broth takes 11 hours of cooking and it is one of the thickest ramen broths I have tasted. Even though the four season ramen might sounds like a gimmick but they are really tasty. Each of the season ramen is given its characteristic and flavour and that’s why Tonkotsu King Four Seasons is always packed. I will definitely come back again for more ramen goodness.
