Coincidently, I have char kuey teow again this week. After having char kuey teow twice a week, I think I will skip char kuey teow for some time.
This place is never been reviewed before and the restaurant is called Restoran Hao Wan, next to Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park Police Station. My friend who stayed around there brought me there and the restaurant is popular with the char kuey teow stall during lunch time.
The stall owner is a middle aged man probably in his golden ages. He is a very friendly person and nice to talk too. We ordered the mixture of kuey teow and noodle instead of just kuey teow.
His version of char kuey is a bit odd. It comes with the usual char kuey teow with “siham” (cockles), beansprout, egg and strangely deep fried prawns. It is not just one or two but half a dozen of deep fried prawns. The prawns are deep fried to perfection, crispy with hints of saltiness. The char kuey teow on the other hand is well seasoned, comes with generous amount of kuey teow and noodle but lacking the “wok hei” (wok heat). In short, it is above average.
For a plate of char kuey teow with such a big portion and half a dozen of deep fried prawns (could be lesser sometimes), it is only RM 4.50. Yes, it is only RM 4.50. For RM 4.50, I have no complains, do you?
