Melbourne Bike Tour Experience
Melbourne Bike Tour Experience
When it comes to exploring Melbourne, you can either walk, taking the trams or you cycle. We do not recommend self drive in the city as the parking charges is not cheap. Thus, the best and ideal way is by cycling.
For first timer, we recommend you to join the local bike tour (bicycle tour). There are a few bike tours in the city and we recommend the RentABike near Federation Square. They are Melbourne’s oldest and most experienced bike and hire tour companies since 1976. The bike rental company is located on the main Yarra River bank below Federation Square. The most important of all, they are professionals and they make sure everyone is properly geared up, comfortable and briefed us about the basic rules of cycling in a group to keep everyone safe and fun!
For bike tour with RentABike, there will be max of 8 riders in a group so the big is not too big and everyone is well taken care off.
For the trail, we did a three hour bike trail and it is simple, easy and entry level. Even for an overweight person like me, this bike tour is considered easy for me. This is an easy going bike trail and not an adventure bike trail.
Our objective of this bike trail is to check out some the street art on the outer side of Melbourne but we get to see more than what we expect. This is a photography trail.
The guide will stop us from one place to another for photography as well as explaining the history of each place.
The beauty of bike trail is you get to see more things as it is more convenient than car and faster than walking.
In Melbourne, there are bike lanes. Yes, there are dedicated bike lanes in most roads in Melbourne so it is very safe to ride in the city. If you want to discover street art, this is one of the best ways to do.
Three hour of bike riding and photography feels so short. We love the places we visited and we captured many great photos. On top of that, we discovered some of the hidden places in Melbourne.
If you want to discover Melbourne like a local, you should consider the bike tour. For more info, check out their website at http://www.rentabike.net.au/
