What is the best thing to do after a long day at work? For us, it is always a restaurant with good food, awesome music, good companions and a pint of beer. This is the best medicine for all the stress, the fatigue and the negativity that surrounds us daily. Where is the best place for a good dinner and awesome beer, you should check out Chapter One Bar and Bistro in Desa Sri Hartamas with their brand new food pairing with CONNOR’S Stout Porter.

CONNOR’S Stout Porter?

If you have not heard of them, well you should head on to a bar and try them. CONNOR’S Stout Porter is inspired by the original British Stout Porter since 1700s. Men at the docks, the porters, they kept things going. They thrived on honest work. Their reward at the end of a long day was simply having a good time with friends and pints of Stout Porter.

Initially the choice of porters, but Stout Porter became popular among socialites and the upper class Brits when they discovered its unique balanced character. The essence of the original was carefully recreated to deliver the same crisp texture, creamy head and gentle roasty undertones . The taste is not too rich, not too bitter, it was the only brew that was just made right. We find this very drinkable and enjoyable, we had a few pints for the evening.

Before we start talking about the restaurant, CONNOR’S Stout Porter and the food, always remember drink responsibly. Please don’t drink and drive so when you drink make sure you have a friend who is not drinking driving or order a private car to send you back. Our choice of ride is Grab. Why not taxis? We read a few robberies committed by taxi drivers in Klang Valley recently and it is very disturbing in our opinion. We usually prefer to take Grab as their details and records can be trace and they are safe in their track records. We have ridden in Grab in Bangkok too. If we plan to drink or chill for the evening, we prefer to order from Grab. Easy, convenient, safe and responsible. Don’t drink and drive.

Chapter One Bar and Bistro is located 70, Jalan 27/70a, Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur. They have been around for two years now and a popular bar and bistro in the neighbourhood. What we like about this place is the soft music, the food and also the drinks.

CRACKLIN’ CHICKEN KARAAGE

Cracklin’ Chicken Karaage is Japanese-style fried chicken marinated in CONNOR’S  Stout Porter  , served with a sweet, spicy and mildly bitter dipping sauce. Chicken Karaage comes in bite size and awesome for snacks. Their version is deep fried to perfection, the chicken is seasoned well and it goes very well with CONNOR’S Stout Porter.

BBQ CHICKEN THIGH

RM40.00++ with 1 FULL PINT of CONNOR’S Stout Porter

Chicken thigh basted with BBQ CONNOR’S  Stout Porter sauce, served with roasted potatoes and a spicy vinaigrette on the side. The chicken skin is crispy and taste is savoury. Compliment it with their homemade chili sauce for that ‘kick’ in the taste. This is not just enjoyable but addictive as well. The strong taste of the chicken goes well with CONNOR’S Stout Porter.

RIB EYE STEAK

RM45.00++ with 1 FULL PINT of CONNOR’S Stout Porter

A Connor’s-marinated rib eye grilled to your liking, served with BBQ CONNOR’S  Stout Porter  sauce, mashed potato and a refreshing pear and spring onion salad dressed in a lemon ginger dressing. For a Rib Eye Steak with this price, this is definitely a steal.

CONNOR’S RIB SLAB

RM85.00++ with 2 FULL PINTS of CONNOR’S Stout Porter

Their version of rack of ribs marinated in CONNOR’S Stout Porter  and basted with BBQ Connor’s sauce. These are pork ribs and probably one of the best in town. The taste of the BBQ Connor’s sauce is just right and not too strong and salty. We enjoyed the rib slab very much and this is highly recommended. The rib slab comes with 2 pints of CONNOR’S Stout Porter and the portion is good for two to three persons.

Chapter One Bar and Bistro’s CONNOR’S Stout Porter Food Pairing Menu is one to look out for and definitely worth the money. If you want an enjoyable evening with good food, awesome live band and a pint of CONNOR’S Stout Porter, you should be making your way to Chapter One Bar and Bistro.
