Balinese Food and Concept Dining at The Uma, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara

This is another gem. This time around in Dataran Sunway, The Stands side of Kota Damansara. It seems to be there’s quite a number of really good food outlets within the area. I’ve heard a lot, but never been to many.
The Uma means padi field in Balinese language. Well, the restaurant is very inspired by Balinese food and concept.
When the sign stated pig allowed, we know its going to be great!
Ground floor with Balinese design concept. It was very cozy. Furniture gave us a touch of Balinese concept.
The 1st floor was like another world. A lovely space with tatami concept.
The background is an actual picture taken from Bali by the owner. Lovely stuff.
Very comfortable and delicate.
Not forgetting the small details like mirrors. The owner really delicate on designing the whole place. It was very comfortable.
Be Siap Memanggang – Grilled Chicken With Beans Rice Set RM18
I must admit that the grilled chicken was impressive. Not over grilled and not too dry.
SATE CELENG ASEM [ASSAM PORK SATAY]
The pork satay was one of the dishes that I craved for. Very least place in Klang Valley offered pork satay, only a few that I know. The pork satay here was well marinated and it was nicely done. Not so much of fat, meat was quite tender. It was decent.
Grilled Chicken Set With Yellow Rice
Lempet Be Tongkong [Grilled Tuna in banana leaf] – RM20
I didn’t it was tuna and it was tasty. To grill the tuna in the banana leaf, the meat was tenderly juicy with the fragrance of the banana leaf. This was another good one.
The dinner was very casual and very interactive. We took quite a number of pictures, but I only show some here. The casts of The Uma dinner “kakis”:

The handsome owner and chef, Yau Chan of The Uma
Yau Chan had a vast experience living in Indonesia. He took up his passion in cooking to try to cook the best Balinese food to his customers. He is a very humble person and nice to talk to.
Coco and me.
The dinner was a real good Balinese cuisine experience. The interior was well done and this is a good place for party and private function. The food itself was pretty good, pricing was reasonable. Recommendable place!
