We recently went to Fukuoka Japan, from 21st to 25th August 2019 and we spent less than RM 2000 including flight and stay excluding meals. This is our first time blogging on a trip within a budget and we are going to show you how we did it.
We are going to break it down as it is easier for everyone to understand. This is possible due to the low fare by AirAsia and cheap accommodation due to the summer season in Fukuoka Japan (June-August).

5 Days 4 Nights Fukuoka Japan Itinerary Day 1:
Reach Fukuoka in the morning and collect the Fukuoka Subway Pass from HIS counter in the International Airport. Take the free shuttle bus to Domestic Airport and walk 5 minutes to reach the Airbnb Apartment. Please take note that the Fukuoka Airport Subway station is located at Domestic Airport Terminal.
The Airbnb Apartment is for 3 people with private bathroom and toilet (no sharing).
Free and Easy in Fukuoka City with Fukuoka Subway Pass from the Fukuoka Airport station (Fukuokakuko Station).
We went to the Canal City Shopping Mall and walk to the Ichiran Ramen Headquarter before going back to our apartment via subway train.
5 Days 4 Nights Fukuoka Japan Itinerary Day 2:
Take the subway from Fukuoka Airport Station (Fukuokakuko Station) to Hakata Subway Station for 260 Yen one way. Join the Kyushu Yufuin Floral Village and Kurokawa Hot Springs from Fukuoka Day Tour by KKday.
First Stop: Yufuin Village with Lunch
Yufuin Village with Lunch option from 7 restaurants. We spent two hours eating and enjoying the view at Yufuin Village.
Second Stop: Kurokawa Hot Spring
There are over 20 hot springs in Kurokawa to choose from. We spent 90 minutes inclusive of hot spring session and walk around in this beautiful town and walking around the Yufuin Shopping Street.
Third Stop: Jion no Taki Waterfall
We have a 30 minutes stop to enjoy the breathtaking Jion no Taki Waterfall and then back to Hakata Subway Station in Fukuoka.
Take the subway back to Fukuoka Airport Station (Fukuokakuko Station) for 260 Yen One Way.
5 Days 4 Nights Fukuoka Japan Itinerary Day 3:
Take the subway from Fukuoka Airport Station to Hakata Subway Station for 260 Yen one way. Join the Daizaifu Shrine, Yufuin Village, Beppu Hot Spring Day Tour from Fukuoka by KKday.
First Stop: Daizaifu Shrine
First stop is to visit the Daizaifu Shrine and the walking street for one hour. You can find many good food at the Daizaifu walking street.
Second Stop: Yufuin Village with Lunch
Yufuin Village with Lunch option from 7 restaurants. We spent two hours eating and enjoying the view at Yufuin Village and walking around the Yufuin Shopping Street.
Third Stop: Kamado Jigoku Beppu
We reached Beppu and visited the Kamado Jigoku. The guide will show us the different types of hot springs from underground at Kamado Jigoku. We will taste the Onsen Egg with local soda here.
Forth Stop: Beppu Hot Spring Experience
We were given 90 minutes to experience hot spring in one of the onsen hotels in Beppu. This is a private onsen for hotel guests only.
Fifth Stop: Beppu Mountain Observation Area
We have a last top at Beppu Mountain Observation area for half an hour to overlook the entire city of Beppu and the coastal area. This is the last stop and then we head back toHakata Subway Station in Fukuoka.
Take the subway back to Fukuoka Airport Station for 260 Yen One Way.
5 Days 4 Nights Fukuoka JapanItinerary Day 4:
Free and Easy in Fukuoka City with the Fukuoka Subway Pass by KKday. You can explore the city by using the subway pass to all subway trains in Fukuoka.
You can have option of visiting the Fukuoka Tower for RM 25 https://www.kkday.com/en/product/18813?cid=8500 but you need to pay extra for the bus fare. It is possible to walk but it is a distance from the subway station.
5 Days 4 Nights Fukuoka Japan Itinerary Day 5:
Walk to the Domestic Airport and take the first shuttle bus to the Fukuoka International Airport terminal at 6 am. The flight from Fukuoka to KLIA2 is at 7.55 am and you must check in by 6.55 am. The departure hall will open by 6.30 am.
5 Days 4 Nights Fukuoka Less Than RM 2000 Including Flight and Stay is possible due to low fares by AirAsia and low season in Fukuoka, during summer season which is June to August. The Airbnb apartment rates will also increase depending on season.
