All Autogate and E-gate Systems Are Suspended
Update: 7/3/2020 1 pm All Autogate and E-gate Systems are still working like usual.
If you are traveling abroad, time to visit the airport early. As announced a few days ago, All the use of Autogate and E-gate Systems will be temporarily suspended from 4th March until further notice as a measure to address the spread of the Covid-19 infection.
As reported by TheStar, Immigration director-general Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud, however said the move would not affect tourist arrivals.
“Yes (the autogate system) is temporarily suspended and will not affect the entry of tourists. It is for the purpose of stricter control in dealing with the spread of the Covid-19 virus and we will continue to work closely with the Health Ministry on the issue, ” he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said this in commenting on the Malaysian Immigration Department’s directive letter to all the State Immigration directors asking them to temporarily suspend the use of the Autogate and E-gate systems due to the spread of Covid-19.

Without the Autogate and E-gate Systems, there will be long queue at immigration counters. It could be long queues but safety first. Thus, be early to the airport and make sure you pass the immigration gates asap so you won’t miss your flight.
