We are considering creating a special post for all the restaurants we reviewed in Kajang. This is Shuang Xi Lou Restaurant located at Ground Floor, Wisma MKH, Bandar Kajang. This looks like a very old restaurant from its signage and there are plenty of parking spaces in front of the restaurant.
We often passed by this restaurant so we decided to try this restaurant for dinner some time ago. First impression, the restaurant reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Maybe we found a hidden gem in Kajang? Let us share the food we ordered at Shuang Xi Lou Restaurant.
This is recommended by them and this is the stif fried lotus root. This dish offers crunchy texture from the lotus root especially from the macadamia nuts. You can find this dish in older restaurants and this is usually pricey due to the macadamia nuts.
We ordered this for our boys as we didn’t order the sweet and sour pork. The homemade tofu is soft as silk and the sauce is tasty and complements well with the rice. Kids enjoyed this dish.
This is a rather unique dish that can find in a few restaurants in Kajang. The tilapia fish is deep fried and then cooked with yam. This creates a very enticing sweet broth that offer flavours and aromas from the fish and yam.
This is roast chicken with lemon sauce or we usually called it Lemon Chicken. This is another dish we ordered for our boys. Chicken is deep fried to crispiness and pour with the sweet and sour lemon sauce. Everyone loves this!
