Good afternoon everyone and it is a sunny Wednesday. We have been missing in action as we are busy creating videos on our Youtube Channel at www.youtube.com/placesandfoods. Today, we want to share one of the restaurants that we frequently visit in Sungai Chua Kajang. This is Restoran Meng Heong in Sungai Chua and we visited this restaurant many times and you can find us sometimes having dinner in this restaurant.

First of all, this is not a fancy restaurant and it is more like a neighbourhood restaurant. They are fully air-conditioned and located next to the famous Kajang Hot Soup Restoran Siaw Kah.

We were there for our usual family dinner. It is quite common for the people here to eat in restaurants in Sg Chua as most restaurants offer reasonable pricing and the taste of the food depends on which restaurant you visit.

Let’s talk about the food we ordered at Restoran Meng Heong Sungai Chua Kajang. We ordered Signature Pork Ribs, Claypot Kang Kung, Fried Fish with Yam in the pot and Sweet and Sour Pork. These are not the official names but easier for you to remember.

This is one of their signature dishes that you must order. You can have different options of fish to order and we ordered ‘Ma Yau’ Fish (Threadfin Fish). The fish will be cut into pieces and deep fried before cooked in the pot together with yam.

The broth is flavorful with the sweetness flavor of the fish and yam. The fish goes really well with the broth and you can complement it with rice. The kids enjoyed this very much.

If you follow our blog, we always order the Sweet and Sour Pork as our boys loved it. This is like the must order dish whenever we dine with our boys. Their version of sweet and sour pork is tasty. The outer layer of the pork is crispy while the sauce is tasty and that is the reason why our boys loved it.

This is the signature pork ribs and the taste of this is similar to char siew but less sweet and stronger taste. The texture of the pork is soft and the taste is flavourful and hence our boys loved this.

A simple kang kung (water spinach) dish in claypot. The vegetables is fresh with good texture and sweetness taste of the vegetables.

Restoran Meng Heong at Sungai Chua Kajang offers simple and yet consistent good food with affordable pricing. It is usually packed during dinner times and most of the customers comes from the neighbourhood. If you are in Sg Chua Kajang for dinner, give this a try.
