We blogged about KFC Zero Burger is coming to Malaysia a few days ago and you can read it at https://www.placesandfoods.com/2021/02/kfc-zero-burger-is-coming-to-malaysia.html . The Zero Burger is available in Singapore last month and other selected countries around the world.

The KFC Zero Chicken Burger Malaysia comes in a green box and the combo comes with fries and soft drinks for RM 15.99 and it is more expensive than the real chicken burger.

We did a short KFC Zero Chicken Burger Malaysia Review, please watch it so you know how it taste like and our reaction on this ‘new invention’.

The reason this is called KFC Zero Chicken Burger as there is no chicken or zero chicken. The patty is made from plant based meat (whatever) and the joke is it is not vegetarian and vegan. In short, KFC Zero Chicken burger is not meat, not vegetarian and not vegan so what is it? We don’t really know.

The KFC Zero Chicken Burger Malaysia comes with plant based crispy meat/chicken patty with 11 herbs and spices, mayonnaise, spicy BBQ sauce, lettuce and cheese with sesame buns.

The portion is bigger than its usual Zinger burgers and the taste is surprising good. Please take note that we were first in line to purchase the burger so the burger was made fresh.

The texture of the meat is dry but similar to chicken breast. The taste is similar to chicken thanks to the 11 herbs and spices. We tasted other plant based meat and we can say KFC Zero Chicken Burger taste better (most likely due to the herbs and spices).

Like we mentioned in the video, the KFC Zero Chicken Burger is worth to try but the price is pretty expensive for plant based meat. If you are curious like we do, it is okay to invest RM 16 for the KFC Zero Chicken Burger Malaysia Combo which is equivalent to a big cup of coffee in Starbucks. Thanks for reading everyone. Please be safe and take care of yourself.

  1. I tried this tonight for my dinner, it wasn’t bad. Quite good actually. Very similar feel and texture to a real chicken patty. But it is costly, that is a negative. But overall, kudos to KFC for bringing in a meat-free alternative. From what I understand, it is not a vegan product as it contains mayonnaise (egg -based) and it is not a vegetarian product as it is fried in the same oil in which meat products are fried. So for people who strictly avoid meat for religious reasons or something, it is not for them. But for someone like me, who wants to eat less meat, it is a good choice.

    1. I thought it will be disappointing so I bought another box of fried chicken. Surprisingly it is pretty good and like I mentioned, a bit expensive. Thanks for commenting, happy holidays, take care and be safe!

  2. I just ordered this for my mom and got chicken for myself. She’s vegetarian but I lied and told her it’s completely vegetarian and she loved it. I enjoyed my 2 piece snack plate and didnt have to fuss about what overpriced vegetarian food to order for her. 10/10 would order again 🙂
