Restoran Damansara UpTown Hokkien Mee
Restoran Damansara UpTown Hokkien Mee
We are sure many people been to Restoran Damansara UpTown Hokkien Mee. It is a popular spot for Kuala Lumpur’s version of Hokkien Mee in Petaling Jaya. For those who didn’t know, hokkien mee in Penang is Prawn Noodles and hokkien mee in Singapore is also noodles with prawn broth. We remembered when we have guests from out of Kuala Lumpur in the 1980s and when they were always surprised to see that thick yellow noodles. This black version of hokkien mee is created and made in KL but you can find them in other parts of Malaysia and even Singapore.
We went to Restoran Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee before the renovation and MCO (Movement Control Order). Thus, we visited this restaurant a few times whenever we were in Petaling Jaya and craved for Hokkien Mee.
The hokkien mee is priced at RM 11.90 per pax, RM 22.90 for two pax and RM 32.90 for three pax. This is two pax portion and the prices is a higher than the usual.
Crispy pork lard is priced at RM 1.50 for small plate and RM 3 for big plate. We usually order the small plate for the pork lard.
Their hokkien mee is quite decent in terms of taste and texture. The flavor is there, the texture is there, the pork lard is there so this is comfort food, eat it when it is warm.
Overall, we enjoyed their Hokkien Mee especially with additional pork lards. However, we must mention that their food prices are a bit expensive but still cheaper than shopping mall food.
At the end of the day, it is just comfort food for the craving of Hokkien Mee in PJ. We don’t believe they offer the best hokkien mee but when you crave for Hokkien Mee, Restoran Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee is one of the few places to visit.
