Malaysians are Number One Visitors to Thailand for first half of 2022
Malaysians going coming back to Thailand for holiday so far in first half of 2022. At the recent report by Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Ministry’s data from January 1 to July 6 this year, government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said on Sunday that most visitors came from Malaysia (277,146), India (249,466), Singapore (137,739), the United Kingdom (128,369) and the US (112,791).
First six months, there are 277,146 Malaysians travelled to Thailand. This is mostly encouraged by the removal of Test & Go and Thailand Pass applications.
I went to Thailand this year during Test & Go and I had to do two PCR tests and two RTK tests and I spent 5000 baht on PCR tests in Thailand. However, those are the stories of the past as both Test & Go and Thailand Pass is no longer needed to travel to Thailand.
Please do take note that there are still limited flights from Malaysia to many places in Thailand and airlines are slowing adding flights and seats from time to time.
Many Malaysians are starting to revisit Southern Thailand cities such as Hatyai and Betong. Some of the latest photos in Hatyai also encouraging as stalls and restaurants starting to reopen as business are coming back.
Malaysians are number one visitors to Thailand for the first half of 2022 and the second half of 2022. The interesting question is how many Malaysians travelled to Thailand in 2022, can it hit 1 million visitors?
For your information, there were 4.16 million Malaysians travelled to Thailand in 2019! Now, Malaysians are Number One Visitors to Thailand for first half of 2022.
