Happy New Year everyone and let me be honest, I just realized that I posted only 9 stories in December 2022. What happened was I spent almost half of December traveling and now it is time to go back to business. First food story of 2023 is Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang in Sentul which I visited a few days ago with my family.

I heard that Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang Sentul has been around for decades and this is actually my first time dining there. Rachel been there recently and we thought of bringing our family to have a pre Chinese New Year dinner.

The restaurant is located 30, Jalan 14/48a, Sentul Raya Boulevard and please reserve your table to avoid disappointment. It is a simple Chinese restaurant and the upper floor offers air-condition tables.

We ordered their Signature Butter Seafood on Hot Plate, Curry Fish Head, German style Pork Knuckle as well as Stir Fried Long Beans with Salted Egg and Har Cheong Fried Chicken Wings.

Signature Butter Seafood (Squid and Prawn) on Hot Plate. This is butter sauce is creamy and not spicy and the kids loved it. The prawns are very fresh and the squids are well cooked with great texture. This goes well with the rice.

Curry Fish Head comes with generous amount of fish, taufupok and vege. When they serve this, you can instantly smell the aroma of the curry. It is immense with flavor, the thickness of the curry is on point and this goes well with rice or bread / mantao. This is good.

The German Style Pork Knuckle comes with their special sauce. The sauce is pretty unique, creamy and with a slight sour after taste. The pork knuckle skin is not that crispy but the texture of the meat is spot on.

The stir fried long beans comes with generous amount of salted egg paste. Every single piece of long bean is coated with salted egg and the kids loved this very much. I will never complain with generous amount of long beans.

Lastly, we ordered their signature Har Cheong (Shrimp paste) Fried Chicken Wings. Minimum to order is three pairs and this is really good. The chicken skin is super crispy and immense with the har cheong paste and you will ask for more. I have never tasted such crispy and tasty nam yu fried chicken wings for a long time.

Overall, the food Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang Sentul is really good and the pricing here are very reasonable. Remember to book your table in advance to avoid disappointment. If you plan to walk in, prepare to wait. I will come back here at Restoran Makanan Laut Zhen Liew Siang Sentul again one day.
