First of all, we must thank our Peruvian family for organizing the trip in Machu Picchu and around Lima especially Memo and Marianella for the warmth hospitality. Our lovely Angela and Oscar, the best brother in law ever thanks for everything.

Why we fly with KLM Airlines? This is because they are reputable airlines and the only airline that offers one stop and not two stops. The food and service on KLM economy class is really good and better than our previous experience with other European airlines. The cabin crews are extremely friendly and this is a very honest experience from us.
Please take note that Peru in general is quite safe for travelers but small thefts are always there even in Europe or Malaysia.
Peru is a Spanish speaking country so there could be some issues of communications especially in Lima. Cuzco most people speaks simple English as it is a tourists hot spot.
The food in Peru is amazingly good. They have many good local food and cheap local fruits and vegetables. They love chili and their chili is called Aji and it is yellow in color.
Taxis are the tough one but you can always order from hotel or airport. Taxis are not that expensive but the language barrier is the problem.
Remember to check their weather and prepare your proper clothing to Peru. Please do prepare the altitude sickness pills and had it before you fly into Cuzco. Altitude sickness is real and we had friends in the hospital in Cuzco during our visit.
During summer most apartments do not have air con and hence we recommend everyone to stay in hotel. It can be very warm during day time.
The hotel rates are pure estimate as there are always cheaper hotels around. Most hotels include breakfast so please check when you book with Agoda.com.
The food prices are quite reasonable and price is quite similar to Malaysia mall prices. The snacks in Peru are very expensive but the local food is very reasonable.
Travel insurance is a must and don’t give stupid reasons of not buying it. My friend hospitalized in Cusco for one night and the bill is US1,000 for that inclusive of medication. It cost less than RM 200 for one trip inclusive of COVID 19 cover so do the maths.
Peruvians in general are very friendly and we missed our Peruvian family and friends. If you have any questions on How much to travel to Machu Picchu from Malaysia, please do comment and we will try to help as much as possible.
This is our first time to Peru and we spent almost three weeks there. We also went to Argentina more than 10 years ago and we spent almost a month there. South America is generally safe depending on countries and areas.
