Imbi Pork Noodles at Restoran Win Heng Seng
Imbi Pork Noodles at Restoran Win Heng Seng
It has been a while since we visited this famous Imbi Pork Noodles or Sam Kan Chong at Restoran Win Heng Seng. This Imbi Pork Noodles is created in Kuala Lumpur.
“Sam Kan Chong”, translated as “Three Adjacent Shops” named by the locals decades ago when the pork noodles shop started at Jalan Silang (near Kotaraya). That shop was so popular with its noodle in branches out to a few places in KL.
Now, it is quite common to have food stalls selling their version of noodle and still named after them.
Unlike the common pork noodle, Sam Kan Chong comes with dry (yellow) noodle with minced meat, sliced Chinese Andouillette and pork meat balls. Similar to pork noodles, it comes with dry or soup based version.
Imbi Pork Noodles at Restoran Win Heng Seng has been around since 1969 is a popular stall in Kuala Lumpur. They open from 6 am until 3 pm daily except Wednesdays.
The restaurant is often packed during the breakfast and lunch time and you can see people waiting outside the restaurant for seats.
We revisited Imbi Pork Noodles at Restoran Win Heng Seng after three years and their sam kan chong is still as good as it’s used to be.
The pork noodles comes with three big slices of Chinese andouillette, minced meat, pork lards with three huge pieces of pork balls. The taste is still good and we still enjoy every bit of this.
The difference now are the prices. We know the inflation is real in Malaysia and the prices of the pork noodles is now RM 12 (small) and RM 15 (large). Please take note what you see in pictures is large size pork noodles. Make sure you tell them you want small or big portion, if not they will straight cook for you large size for RM 15.
For a food stall, RM 15 for pork noodles is expensive but in reality, pork meat prices have risen more than other meat in this two years. On top of that, we heard about crazy rentals in the city center as well as the hike of foreign worker wages due to shortages. If you put all together, this leads to RM 15 for one bowl of pork noodles.
If this is a café, you probably pays slightly more for that but food quality wise differs. This is probably the best pork noodles in the city right and correct us if we are wrong.
We might not be frequent visitor due to the price but Imbi Pork Noodles at Restoran Win Heng Seng is still worth the visit. Do you agree?
