AirAsiaX to reboot KL London Flights

Did you miss traveling from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to London on AirAsiaX? Oh well, AirAsiaX is planning to reboot the flights again after a three year hiatus. The route was abandoned a few years ago together with Paris but it is time to reboot?

Just a few hours ago, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes announced it on this Twitter that “I am pleased to announce that the reopening of Kl London is definitely on the cards. Will be discussion with Boris Johnson next week.”

He added on with tweets like “kl london is the most wanted route for airasia x . and we will deliver it I am quite sure . airasia x looking good .”

Then he starts on tweeting for a ticket giveway! That’s the way Tony Fernandes!

“Tell me why you love airasia x and I will give one free ticket to our inaugral flight from kl to london and ..”

That is not all, he went on and tweeting that Hawaii could be the next destination!

“We are also exploring Hawaii as part of our growth strategy. Flew on airaia x . superb product . better han full service airlines .”

With crude oil is currently trading below US$80 per barrel from over US$100 per barrel a few months ago, this could be the right time to do the announcement. This means lower operating cost for airlines and cheaper fare for travellers.

I am sure this is good news for FIT and budget travellers to London and Europe. This could help students who are studying in UK too and of course, this will boost tourism for both countries. I still remember most promo fares from KL to London were priced below RM 1,500 per person and that was cheaper than all full service airlines.
