Special Tourists Fare for Kobe High Speed Ferry from Kansai International Airport
On my recent trip to Japan last month, I decided to stay a few nights in Kobe. I visited Kobe twice but I wanted to stay in this underrated city to explore the places and foods there. I was recommended to take the Kobe High Speed Ferry from Kansai International Airport and the cool thing is there is special tourists fare.
I usually take the trains from Kansai International Airport and I wanted a change of mode of transportation for the change scenery and hence I take the Kobe high speed ferry.
For locals, the single trip of the Kobe High Speed Ferry is:
One-way: 1,880 yen (Children 940 yen)
Round-trip: 3,060yen (Children 1,530 yen)
However, the Special Tourists Fare for Kobe High Speed Ferry from Kansai International Airport is 500 Yen one way. They will request your passport for verification to purchase this Special Tourists Fare. This means you save up to 1380 Yen per ticket and the discount is over 60%!
The Kobe High Speed Ferry office counter is located on the far right of the International Hall of Kansai International Airport.
Just show them the passport, you pay 500 Yen and they will issue the ticket to you.
Next, you have to exit the airport and take the free shuttle bus to the jetty and hop on to the Kobe High Speed Ferry.
It takes 30 min ride of the high speed ferry from the airport to the Kobe Airport. You have to take another train to your next destination in Kobe. The ferry is fully air-conditioned and lots of space for your luggage.
I must say, it is pretty cool to take the Kobe High Speed Ferry from Kansai International Airport. I manage to visit Kobe Airport which is really small and save lots of time traveling from the airport to Kobe city.
