This is Ying Jia Restaurant located at Glutton Street (Wai Sek Kai) Happy Garden KL. They offer Hong Kong Style Dim Sum for over 30 years in this area.
The impression of the Ying Jia Dim Sum Restaurant Happy Garden is spacious, clean and comfortable (even without aircond). Ying Jia Restaurant open daily from 7 am to 3 pm for dim sum except Tuesday.
As I posted the video of this restaurant on my socials, I received various comments and now, time for this full review. Like how I mentioned in the video, I love their molten lava egg tart, HK Cheong Fun and Lava Bun. I have yet to comment on the dim sum and hence, this is the full review.
You can find value for money handmade dim sum from RM 5.50 and above. It doesn’t mean all the dim sum is RM 5.50, it is from RM 5.50 and above depending the type of dim sum.
Let me go thru their Top 10 Items:

✅Har Gao
✅Yinyong Cheong Fun
✅Char Siu Bao
✅Lor Mai Kai
✅Yam Cake
✅Aromatic Fried Carrot Cake
✅Molten Lava Egg Tart

Siu Mai – The size and taste is pretty decent.
Shanghai Xiao Long Bao – Eat it when it is warm.
Har Gao – The skin might not translucent but the filling of the prawns are fresh and comes with good texture.
Yinyong Cheong Fun – This is also known as HK Style Cheong Fun. To be honest, this is really tasty. I like the smooth texture of the cheong fun as well as their dried prawn chili. Must eat when it is still warm.
Char Siu Bao – Traditional style skin but the filling is tasty.
Lor Mai Kai – Classic lor mai kai that is savoury and delicious.
Yam Cake – Yam is flaky, deep fried to crispiness on the outer layer while the filling is scrumptious.
Aromatic Fried Carrot Cake – This comes with wok hei but must eat it when it is warm.
Molten Lava Egg Tart – This is the star of Ying Jia Dim Sum Restaurant. Molten Lava egg tart that I tried for the first time in my life. I am not sure there are similar egg tart but this is my first. I love how the lava melts when I took my first bite. This is not just tasty but addictive, I had a few of this and this is worth the visit.
Fried Har Kuen – You must have this when it is warm. I love the crispiness of the skin as well as the freshness of the prawn and its taste and texture.
If you order the Top 10 Items set, you can get complimentary two mini Homemade Herbal Jelly. I believe this is value for money as the price range of the Ying Jia Dim Sum Restaurant Happy Garden is affordable and cheap compare to popular dim sum restaurant.
Lava Bun – This is another great dim sum you must order. I noticed that the bun comes with thicken skin but it is necessary to hold that generous amount of lava sauce within. The flavour is satisfying and the kids loved this.
I love their signature Molten Lava Egg Tart and Cheong Fun. The Molten Lava Egg is a must order if you visit this restaurant. Some of the dim sum is pretty decent, nothing extra ordinary in terms of taste. However, overall I enjoy the ambiance of the Ying Jia Dim Sum Restaurant Happy Garden, the service as well as the affordable pricing of the food here.
