Ying Jia Restaurant Kuala Lumpur
Nestled in the heart of Happy Garden, Kuala Lumpur, lies a culinary gem that has captivated the hearts of food lovers for generations: Ying Jia Seafood & Dim Sum Restaurant. This unassuming establishment, with its warm, inviting ambiance, offers a delightful gastronomic experience that transcends time. They are located at Glutton Street (Wai Sek Kai) Jalan Lazat 1 (corner lot), Happy Garden KL.
Dim Sum and Chinese Food
Ying Jia is renowned for its diverse menu, which caters to a wide range of palates. From delectable dim sum during the day to savory seafood and Chinese food, every item on the menu is meticulously prepared using the finest ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.
We blogged about their dim sum menu and this time their seafood and Chinese menu. They might not have many fancy items in their menu but they are definitely tummy-warming Chinese food.
Sang Har Kong Nam Mee. It comes with cup of vinegar and Chinese wine and it offers the aromatic taste to the Sang Har Kong Nam Mee. The sang har (fresh water prawn) is fresh and the noodles are flavourful and this is RM 29.90 only!
There are many restaurants out there selling sang har mee but not sang har kong nam mee so this is different than the rest. On top of that, they offer two prawns instead of one. The inclusion of the vinegar and Chinese wine elevates the taste of the noodles to another level. With the pricing, this is must order.
Claypot Kang Kung. Simple Claypot kang kung, vege is fresh and this is decent.
Clayport Pork Knuckle. We love the texture of the meat here, taste is not too salty and it complements well with the rice.
Butter Prawns is fried to perfection and each is coated with the butter sauce. The prawns are fresh with great texture and love the butter sauce.
Steamed Soon Hock Fish. We didn’t have Soon Hock Fish for a long time and it is one of the top tier fish in the country. Here, they priced Soon Hock at RM 150/ kg and it is often steam to taste the sweetness of the fish.
The fish is steam to perfection with great texture and complement with light soy sauce. You can really taste the natural sweetness of the fish.
ABC – Ais Batu Campur or Shaved Ice. This comes with lots of ingredients and of course this is sweet and savoury. Adults and young will enjoy this for dessert.
A Family Affair
One of the key factors contributing to Ying Jia’s enduring popularity is its family-friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is a popular gathering place for families and friends, offering a welcoming space to share meals and create lasting memories. The attentive and efficient service further enhances the dining experience, ensuring that every customer feels valued.
We love their clean and spacious style restaurant. Even though it is not air condition and due to the high ceiling, you feel very comfortable dining here.
A Culinary Legacy
Ying Jia is more than just a restaurant; it is a culinary legacy that has been passed down through generations. The restaurant’s commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation has earned it a loyal following and a well-deserved reputation as one of the best Chinese restaurants in Happy Garden Kuala Lumpur.
The restaurant has opened for over 30 years in Happy Garden and now it is operating by the second generation. The food quality is consistent and many regulars are supporting this restaurant for decades.
