Meeting Williams Formula One Driver Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
Formula One fans and luxury watch aficionados were treated to an evening of F1 fever as Swiss watchmaker Oris welcomed their newest ambassador, Formula One driver Mr Pastor Maldonado at Pavilion KL.
I was invited by Oris Malaysia for the meet and greet session in Pavilion.
Sporting an Oris timepiece from the motorsport collection, Pastor made an appearance at the Oris roadshow and was received by a cheering crowd, eager to catch a glimpse of this new promising driver. Many Venezuelan fans who are residing in Malaysia turned up to show their support to their countryman.
Stepping foot on Malaysian soil for the first time in the capacity of an F1 driver, Pastor was both surprised and excited that there were so many fans who wanted to meet him in person. “I am very humbled by the grace and warmth that Malaysians have offered me since I touched down and I am looking forward to a spectacular race this weekend to prove myself to the local fans.”
The evening’s tempo was heightened when Pastor made his rounds to sign autographs and take pictures with his fans.
“The number of people here to see Pastor was staggering. This only proves that the F1 spirit in Malaysia is still growing strong and that the partnership with Williams F1 team is still a very strong platform for Oris,” proclaimed Mr Raymond Tan, General Manager of Swiss Prestige Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Oris Swiss Watches.
The evening ended on a high, as guests mingled and reveled with Pastor, many wishing him luck for the race this weekend, while perusing Oris’ collection of motorsport racing-inspired timepieces.
Me and other media friends. We loved the event, the food and the beer! Thank you Oris Watches Malaysia for the invite!
