Mamesiba Shiba Inu Café Kurashiki Okayama
You probably heard of Husky dog or Owl cafes in Japan. However, you might not hear of Shiba Inu Cafés in Japan. Shiba Inu is the smallest dog originated from Japan. So far only a few Shiba Inu cafes in Japan and one of them recently opened in Kurashiki Okayama Japan.
It is called Mamesiba café and it is located at Kurashiki Bikan Quarter in Okayama. Shiba inu simply means Shiba dog. Inu means dog in Japanese.
The address is at 1 Chome-1-7 Chuo, Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture 710-0046. They are pretty new so you can’t find any information on them yet. They are the same operator of Kurashikin Hedgehog’s Forest, Owl’s Forest and Bengal Cat’s Forest.
The entrance fee is 700 Yen per pax for 30 minutes with one drink. Even though this café is new but it is already packed! Most of the visitors here are still locals. If you plan to visit, please come early before the long queue.
Like any other dog cafes, you are restrained to grab or force the dogs to take picture with you. The Shiba inu are small dogs and they are cute. The dogs will come to you and if they are comfortable, they will rest in your arms and legs. If they are not, they will move around.
The area is not that big but cozy. They have chairs and tables so it is quite comfortable to be here. If not mistaken, there are six Shiba inu in this café.
To be honest, we enjoyed the Shiba inu café. It is easier for you to take picture with them. They are less active and aggressive than Husky based on our experiences.
