Macy’s Herald Square, NYC: The Largest Departmental Store in the World
Macy’s Herald Square, NYC: The Largest Departmental Store in the World
The moment when the yellow cab stopped in front Macy’s, the first impression was the lovely pre-war building located the Herald Square. It was a chilly spring morning and the store was well decorated with flowers and trees. It was nicely done, as passerby would stop and took pictures of the decorations.
We were in a rush, browsing through the store and to my surprise, there was another block attached with it. It is huge in size, I had never seen anything like this before. With 2 blocks attached, Macy’s Herald Square had 10 floors.
The surprise of that day was the morning sale. Apparently the sale was on until noon, I wasted no time to check out my shirts. The best part about Macy’s were, the price was very reasonable, even converting to Malaysian ringgit, it was still cheaper. I bought a few shirts from Claiborne and Calvin Klein, the shirt was lesser than US 20 each! I also bought a bag for Rachel and some accessories for my mum. The lovely cashier gave me discount using the Macy’s card, as I had a chat with her earlier on. Always remember there’s good tax in New York City and always remember to tip the cab drivers and waiters and such. It’s a norm.
It was a quickie at Macy’s Herald Square but it was fruitful. It is a must visit place for shoppers in New York City. Thanks for reading.
