Wagyu Beef Cheeks at Alexis The Gardens
It was a last minute thing to go to Alexis… so everyone was not prepared…
So there were we…. waiting for the rest to turn up…
At the mean time, our hungry tummies couldn’t wait… so we had a Clam Chowder first…
The Wagyu Beef Cheeks… braised in red wine…
It was definitely a fantastic dinner…. we loved the wagyu beef… the roast duck was good… the fish was good… mee siam so so… clam chowder was fantastic… sandwich was good and tiramisu was something different…
Place is nice… service was good… Price is not too bad either, 1 pax paid around RM 60 without wine… I won’t mind going back for the beef….
Wagyu (?? wagy??) refers to several breeds of cattle genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. The meat from wagyu cattle is known worldwide for its marbling characteristics, increased eating quality through a naturally enhanced flavor, tenderness and juiciness, and thus a high market value. Several areas in Japan are famous for the quality of their Wagyu cattle, and ship beef bearing their areas’ names. Some examples are Kobe, Mishima and Ohmi beef.
The wagyu cattle’s genetic predisposition yields a beef that contains a higher percentage of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids[1] than typical beef. The increased marbling also improves the ratio of monounsaturated fats to saturated fats.- Wikipedia
