Awesome Vegetarian Food @ Tian Yian Cafe, Cheras
* HALAL
Hey! I know I’m not a big vege lover but it doesn’t mean I can’t go and eat Vegetarian foods right?
This is my second visit to this place. Located behind UE3, facing the Miharja Condos and Apartments, this place is very popular among the vegetarians.
I was surprised as they renovated the place to a very “Western” design. Since it was a lunch, we ordered our foods quickly.
My dad ordered Hong Siew Noodle. Can you really imagine this is vegetarian? Seriously, it really tasted like meat. The feeling was like as if there were “fat” and tenderness for every bite I had. The soup was similar to “Bak Kut Teh” taste. Noodle was okay. This dish was an eye opener!
Next was the Banini Spicy Steak Sandwich. Look at the fillings! This fillings was good. Really hardly tell if its meat. Overall, not bad! I seriously don’t know why they called it “banini”….
Millet Crumbs French Sandwich. Check out the fillings. The wholemeal bread and the fillings blend well, but a bit too dry for me. Yet, such standard is much better than usual sandwiches out there. Furthermore, this is Vegetarian!
Tau Fu Rojak probably was the least interesting dish. Thick creamy curry sauce blended well with crispy fried tau fu with cucumber.
Vegetarian Fish and Chips. Hard to believe but it tasted as good as the real one. Another amazing dish. How could they made a vegetarian meal so close to a real one? It was good but too fake to be a vege.
Lastly we had a green tea cheesecake for dessert. Cake was good.
Overall the food there was good. The amazing thing about this place is how they turned vegetarian foods to real “meat” foods. There were a few monks enjoying their meals. A meal per pax should go around RM 10. There are also set meals that’s less than RM 10. Service was excellent and the place is well air conditioned. A must try for fancy vegetarian foods lovers.

Vegetarian foods are the best since they are low in fat and are healthier. :
