Tapas @ Werner’s On Changkat Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL
Weekend was hectic. Lots of wedding preparations and we (Me and Rachel and bunch of friends) went to Broga Hill for hiking. Lots of pictures to come assured.
Heard a lot of Werner’s On Changkat. Rachel had a blast with her friends last year there and there’s lots of recommendations to there. In April, we celebrated Rachel’s birthday there.
It was a rainy Friday and it was a “last minute” arrangement. Many came late that night trying to beat the Friday’s night traffic jam. The rain didn’t help either.
We reached there early… waiting for the rest.
The place is nice. Lovely ambiance, cozy and romantic. The people there were very helpful as well. We spotted a couple taking their wedding pictures there.
They were running a “get a beer and free a tapas promo” (not sure its still valid now). While waiting for the rest to come, we ordered a few beers + a few free tapas. Since they had a long tapas menu list, we asked them to recommend a few. Manchengo cheese was first. Mozarella cheese deep fried in breadcrumbs were amazing! Smoked duck breast was equally good. They were nice enough to cooked a special mushroom dish for us. The last tapas we had was the spicy chicken wings, it was decent. The most ordinary tapas of all.
The beers were always amazing with Hoegarden and Warsteiner…
The rest came we hastily made our orders. Thanks to Andreas (the manager), he recommended a few lovely dishes for the night. The white wine Salmon with pasta (RM 48) was good. It was quickly snapped up by us.
Their famous rack of lamb was next. Since there’s only a few of us, we ordered 1/2 rack of lamb (RM 115). Surprisingly, it was not as what as we expected. We thought it was ordinary probably we didn’t like “the distinctive taste” in the lamb. It’s subjective.
Coq au vin rogue or in English, Chicken In Red Wine with pasta (RM 38) was the last dish we had. This was good, I loved the gravy and the chicken.
The place is a good chill out place…. overlook the ever busy Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang…
The gang, Sailormoon Jacqui, Rachel, Me, Steph and Khai…
In general, we loved the tapas, the dinner was decent. We paid around RM 300++ inclusive of the beers we ordered. The service was excellent and the place was lovely. I loved the interior of the place and it’s one of the recommendable romantic dinner place.
Recommendable.
