Marina Bay Sands Singapore Hotel Review: The Horizon Rooms Deluxe
Marina Bay Sands Singapore Hotel Review: The Horizon Rooms Deluxe
A few months ago, I was invited for the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Grand Opening Launch. I stayed at there for 2 nights with 3 full days of media events. Before I start, I must thank Marina Bay Sands Singapore for the generous media invite and flying us from Kuala Lumpur with other media representatives.
We received a warm reception after the Marina Bay Sands coach picked us up at Changi Airport. With hundreds of media around the world checking in, the reception did a great job checking us in early.
Loved the colours of the wall at lobby of Marina Bay Sands Singapore
That’s the lift lobby to our rooms at Tower 1
There are 3 towers at Marina Bay Sands. All towers are connected at the lobby level and the Skypark level. We stayed at Tower 1, the closest to the reception.
We stayed at the Horizon Rooms Deluxe; rooms above level 22 and below level 55. The Atrium Rooms are level 22 and below. We loved the carpet design on the corridor of the hotel rooms, I thought it was cute.
Then, we checked in to our room. First thing we saw as we walked in is the green tree painting on the wall with the mirror as the background on the left facing the bathroom on the right.
The room comes with 2 single beds facing the huge LCD TV. I have no complains of that. There is a cute little sofa beside the bed and not to mention the work table beside the TV. The room is a sea view room.
The LCD TV position nicely in front of the beds
The small sofa chair by the bed, loved the prints on the carpet
That is our lovely room at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.
One thing I need to mention is the mini bar. All the things in the mini bars cannot be removed or replaced. There are sensors at the bottom of each item. If you lift up any item, it will be automatically calculated into your bills. I’m not joking. The reception informed us of this. So don’t try to pick up anything from the mini bar if you don’t intend to purchase, they will send you the bill.
The ships clustered around the Strait of Malacca
By the way there is a balcony on sea view Horizon Rooms Deluxe. Okay, we can see the sea, filled by the transport ships. It is a remarkable sign on how strong Singapore trade business is.
The room’s bathroom is surprisingly big. Most noticeable is the huge bathtub and the huge mirror. Here, I liked the 2 cubicles concept, 1 for the standing shower and 1 for the seating toilet. I noticed something weird here though, the amenities are with Chinese branding, Paiza.
The rest is more the less the same as the usual 5 stars hotel. It is still brand new and everything is still clean. One thing for sure, we had a good sleep which we felt it is very important for luxury hotel stays. However, there is no free complimentary mineral water. It is quite popular for some luxury hotels or resorts not to provide free complimentary mineral water.
We stayed at the sea view room on the first night and we switched to the city view on the second night. Luckily, they gave us a King size bed. Basically the setup is more the less the same of the sea view just that city view rooms have no balcony.
Evening Singapore city view from the room
During night time, the room was basically lit up by the amazing scenery of Singapore city view.
At this point, you will realize getting a room at Marina Bay Sands Singapore is worth every penny.
Not forgetting also the infamous Marina Bay Sands Skypark. Well, we didn’t manage to swim on the last day due to media duties but we did go up for the ribbon cutting ceremony. I am proud to say that we were the first few official guests to check out the Skypark. Again, the view here is breathtaking.
Check out my review on the Skypark HERE.
For those who wanted to go to the city, I have a good advice when you stay there. There are free shuttle busses available to the city so you can save on the taxi fares. Singapore taxi fares are not cheap!
In conclusion, we enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. The building looks amazing. Staying at Marina Bay Sands was satisfying and enjoying. We hope to back there again when the “Lion King” musical is ready. Not forgetting also the World class celebrity chef restaurants in Marina Bay Sands. I believe every experience is unique and they gave me a bigger one!
