Wild Eagle Feeding Experience

The amazing thing about Langkawi is the wild eagles. In fact the name Langkawi means reddish brown eagles. The wild eagle feeding works like this. The boatman will pre-packed some chicken skin and throw it into the river. Then, the eagles will fly down at catch them in front of us. Bear in mind, these are wild eagles. We can see the speed of the eagle barging down to the river in split second. The experience and the moments are priceless!

Fish Farm

The fish farm is the last stop of the mangrove tour. At this farm, tourists can expect to see huge stingrays, horseshoe crabs and the spectacular archer fish.

The stingrays are huge. Tourists are allowed to touch the fish and the feeling is somehow slimy. The face of the stingray looks similar to a human face, scary.

I have never seen a real horseshoe crab before. Saw it on TV various times so first time encountering this ancient creature was quite unexpected.

Lastly, the star of the fish farm is the archer fish. Why is it called an archer fish? The fish are able to shoot water from distance like an archer. There was a demonstration where the fish shot down a piece of bread. That was purely spectacular.

The Langkawi’s Mangrove Eco Tour was unexpectedly fun. There were so many new experiences in such a short time like the eagle feeding, the archer fish as well as the bat cave. We definitely enjoyed the tour.
