Action Packed Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011
Action Packed Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011
Big hand applause to the organizers of Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011. I went to Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011 yesterday evening and it was amazing!
I reached the venue around 5 pm and it was packed. Traffic wasn’t that bad, slow moving. I manage to grab a parking space but it is slightly further.
The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011 is quite well managed with lots of food stalls, shopping stalls and also security people walking around. I spotted a few mobile telecommunication towers at the venue as well so there are no lost communications signals around the area.
Over 20 countries participating this year’s Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Thousands packed the venue for the festival.
Around 5.30pm, they started to inflate the hot air balloons. Families of all races packed the venue and most of them equipped with camera and video camera enjoying the different types of designs and colours of the hot air balloons.
Sadly, at this time the Doraemon and the Darth Vader hot air balloon didn’t participate. Otherwise, the kids were thrilled.
There is an incident that happened on Sunday evening.
For unknown reason, the Thailand’s hot air balloon collided with the American hot air balloon.
The incident happened just on top of me.
The impact of the collision sent the Thai hot air balloon crashing to the ground.
However, the experience Thai pilot managed to lift the balloon up on time but it still crashed onto a parked 4×4 vehicle and it went thru a few trees.
There was no injuries, it was a close call and lucky escape. Only the vehicle’s windscreen was smashed.
Overall, it’s still an amazing event. Many people traveled from the city for half an hour for this event. This time, I saw quite a number of tourists and foreigners at the fiesta. Everyone was enjoying themselves there. I hope this successful event will continue many years ahead with more participation from other countries.
Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011 was a great success story. For those who missed it, come again next year!
Hi,
It is people like you that make us happy to organised the fiesta. You might not know…it is a private iniative from us even though not much support from the government except from Putrajaya Corporation. Our satisfaction is from the multiracial families that attended the event, the smiling faces of the children and the number of visitors that came rain or shine.
Are we having it again next year? We do not know yet, perhaps…if we do get some sponsors…as we intend to keep it free for anyone to attend.
My family and my team are so passionate about the event…so do I.
Thanks for your comment brother.

Dear Mr. Khairudin,
It is one of the best free events in Malaysia. It is the best place see Malaysia as multicultural country where everyone enjoying themselves.
I must say, keep up the good work. If there is another one next year, I will drop by if I’m free.
You are keeping the spirit of true Malaysian and making us proud. There were lots of tourists and I bet they enjoyed themselves too.
