Asian RAID ® 2011 Media Launch at Royal Chulan Hotel
9 DAYS, 3 COUNTRIES & 9 CITIES
A LUXURY VINTAGE CAR RALLY OVER 3,000KM OF ROADS KUALA LUMPUR
Last week I was invited to one of the most exclusive media launches of the year, it was the Asian RAID 2011. Enthusiasts and fans were treated to a delightful afternoon as Asian RAID launches its 2011 leg of the annual luxury vintage car rally.
Travel across 9 cities with over 3,000km of road in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, participants can expect to stay in five-class luxury hotels and served with fine cuisines over 9 days of trunk road driving.
Mingling with the locals and sampling local cuisines, the top 3 team of participants will also have the chance to win a pair of Oris Swiss Watches each as they compete against one another in various challenges along the journey.
“The experience of driving classic cars in a convoy alone is fantastic but to add on to it with luxurious hotel stays and Oris Swiss Watches to be won, it’s really an adventure not to be missed,” said Mr. Steven Ng, the co-organizer of Asian RAID ®.
The launch was officiated by Datuk Dr Mohd Mydin bin Mohd Musa, President of Persatuan Pemotoran Malaysia, along with Presenter and Official Timer sponsor Oris Swiss Watches which was represented by Mr Raymond Tan, General Manager of Swiss Prestige Sdn Bhd and Official Hotel sponsor’s General Manager, Mr Franz Swoboda of The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.
The top 3 prizes comprising a pair of Oris Swiss Watches for each team were unveiled alongside 2 vintage treasure in the form of a well-preserved classic 1952 MG TD and a 1967 sports convertible Jaguar E-Type, brought in just to grace the occasion.
Commissioned by Organization RAID ® from Switzerland and organized by Image Cubes Sdn Bhd, the Asian RAID ®already boasts a list of foreign participants from Switzerland, France and Hong Kong.
