Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant
Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant
A few weeks ago, I was invited to review the Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant in Hulu Langat. This is a hidden a yet popular Thai restaurant which is located in the jungle. Before this, I have visited the restaurant a few times with my friends.
The restaurant is near the Hulu Langat Lookout point (now closed) near Ampang. After passing the Lookout Point on the right hand side, keep on driving towards to Hulu Langat until you spot the Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant signage. You will need to drive down the slope and within a few hundred metres, you will reach the Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant.
Like I mentioned earlier, the restaurant is located in the middle of the jungle.
Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant is built on top of a small man made fish pond. Many prefer to come here for the food as well as its unique setup.
On top of their fresh seafood, they also offer fresh vegetables planted in their own organic vegetable farm. There I met the other Selangorlicious Foodsters for lunch.
Fried Chicken with Kaffir Lime Leaf
We started off with Fried Chicken with Kaffir Lime Leaf
Seafood Tom Yam Soup
Then, it was their famous Seafood Tom Yam Soup and they also offers the clear soup version.
Kerabu Chicken Feet
Kerabu Chicken Feet is a must for chicken feet or kerabu lovers.
Sotong Masak Pedas with Coconut Milk
Sotong Masak Pedas with Coconut Milk tastes similar to the usual calamari rings but spicier and it is dipped with rich coconut milk. How can you go wrong with deep fried calamari?
Grilled Lamb
Grilled Lamb is well marinated and seasoned. Not sure why but many Thai restaurants in KL loves to include grilled lamb in their menu.
Udang Goreng Cili Bawang Putih
Udang Goreng Cili Bawang Putih also looks and taste similar to tempura prawns but their version is enriched with spicy flavours from chili and garlic.
Mango Kerabu
Mango Kerabu or Thai version of papaya salad is one of the most popular Thai dishes that cannot be missed.
Check out also Chef Wan’s Peranakan Kerabu Recipe (Prawn Mango Noodle Salad).
Kangkung with Tao Chew
Kangkung with Tao Chew is for those who fancy their fresh organic kangkung.
Udang Goreng Cili Bawang Putih, Fried Spinach
Like the Udang Goreng Cili Bawang Putih, Fried Spinach has a strong influence from the fried tempura vegetable. This is also similar to Japanese vegetable karaage.
Lemon Steamed Fish
Lemon Steamed Fish is another favourites there. It has similar taste to Tom Yam soup but richer in lemon taste. Having a steamed fish is the best way to taste the freshness of the fish.
Ketam Masak Serbuk Kari
Ketam Masak Serbuk Kari or Curry Powder Crab is a must have for crab lovers on top of their popular BBQ Crabs. The strongly curry powder flavoured crabs are addictive.
Thai Desserts
Lastly, we had a platter of popular Thai desserts that left us a deep impression on this restaurant. Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant also offers alcohol coconut flower drinks. All the vegetables served there are planted by their own organic vegetables farm. If you are looking for good and fresh Thai food, you might want to visit Vegetable Fish Farm Thai Restaurant.
Please booked for your table to avoid disappointments, the restaurant is usually packed during dinner and weekends. Thanks Selangorlicious for the invite!

I actually went there for dinner last night. The place is like super far but the food is good. The menu for my dinner last night was : BBQ Squid, Salted Egg Squid, Tillapia Thai Style, Tillapia BBQ, Black Pepper Crab, BBQ Crab, Curry Powder Crab, Fried Prawn with Coconut Milk, Tom Yam Soup and Kacang Botol Belacan.
The BBQ Crab was a little bit of a letdown but the rest was superb. It was a real enjoyable dinner. However, the prices to me are a little on the high end. Everything costed a whopping RM 450++.
If only the price was slightly bit more reasonable, I would surely make it a regular dinner spot.
Cheers.
Shakila,
How many of you all there? Just wondering.
Wilson
Hi Wilson,
There were 6 of us there…
Shakila
Hi Shakila,
For 6, it is really pricey for the bill of RM 450. I went there last year with 8 of us, we spent around RM 400++ also.
