Mexican Christmas Dinner in Frontera Sol of Mexico
Mexican Christmas Dinner in Frontera Sol of Mexico
Want to have a special Christmas dining experience this year? Getting tired of the same old thing? Well, try this, Mexican Christmas Dinning Experience in Frontera Sol of Mexico.
This was not my first time there. I was there two years ago and my review can be read here.
The thing about Frontera is that they serve only traditional and authentic Mexican food. Thus, some of the food is not adapted to our local taste bud. Hence, some might argue about the taste of the food but that is how it is in Mexico. Frontera is one of the few Mexican flavour restaurants in Kuala Lumpur. It is located at the happening place of Jaya One, hosts of many interesting and delicious restaurants and bars.
We were invited to try out their new Christmas menu a few weeks ago. Right in our mind was nachos, burrito and chimichanga. However, it was a different new thing. It is a brand new Mexican Christmas Dinner.
We started off with 2 special drinks, alcoholic 1919 Shangria and non-alcoholic Watermelon Agua Fresca.
For entrée we have Traditional Tamales (Choices of chicken / Beef). From the look at it, it thought was Chinese Dumplings. Actually it tasted similar like Chinese Dumpling as well but in a different way.
Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Sage Pesto
Rachel thought this was pumpkin soup. The texture was thicker but the colour is similar to a pumpkin soup colour. The roasted butternut has this little significant taste that is hard to explain in words, once you try it you will know.
Mesquite Smoked Turkey with Broccoli Florets Topped with Chili Con Queso
This is not mosquito turkey but Mesquite Smoked Turkey with Broccoli Florets Topped, Cranberry Chipotle Relish, Jalapeno Corn Bread Dressing and Chili Con Queso. The sliced turkey meat was cooked tenderly with flavour and I enjoyed the Jalapeno Corn Bread Dressing.
Veracruz-style Fillet of Red Snapper with Mexican rice & Sonora vegetables. This is another alternative for those who prefer fish than turkey.
The Christmas set also comes with two very special desserts, Peach Tres Leches Cake and Key Lime Pie.
Peach Tres Leches Cake was sweet and the taste was dominated with milk flavour.
Lastly, we had the Key Lime Pie which had a soft texture and strongly infused with lime flavour.
Like I said, if you are looking for a different Christmas dinner, this might be an option for you. Check out the details below and book early to avoid disappointments.
