From 17 to 26 May, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur will be featuring a feast of Indian delights at its’ all-day dining restaurant, Mosaic. Hailing from The Oberoi, Mumbai, Chef Rahul Kulkarni promises guests an authentic Indian cuisine indulgence.

Kulkarni, a member of the Indian Federation of Culinary Association (IFCA) is no stranger to the culinary industry. Apart from having worked at some of the biggest hotels in India, he has also been awarded numerous awards in recognition of his accomplishments such as the Gold Medal and Best Dessert Category Award at the National Chef Competition organised by the Taj Group of Hotels and runner-up at the International Chefs’ Day Competition just to name a few.
I had a lengthy chat with him including a video interview below. The chef is actually on his second stop pit stop in Malaysia after Mandarin Oriental Singapore hosted his team weeks earlier. This is his first time coming to Malaysia and his Malaysian experience has been excellent so far.

Amongst some of the starters available during this 10-day promotion are Dahi Bhalle – a lentil dumpling flavoured with cumin, green chilli and coriander, laced with savoury yoghurt and tamarind chutney, and Murgh Aur Hara Pyza Ki Chaat made from salad of crisp chicken, scallion and sweet pepper in freshly ground mustard dressing.

Continue to feast in some of Kulkarni’s finest main courses, namely Malabar Prawn Curry. These king prawns are gently simmered in red chilli, tamarind and tomato gravy, and finished with coconut milk. If curry is not your preference, opt for the Tandoori Tulsi Jhinga where the king prawns are marinated in yoghurt, roast garlic and cooked in clay oven. -moreMeat lovers can savour in the Rajasthani Laal Maas, a lamb dish cooked in red chilli, tandoori roasted chicken tikka cooked in tomato curry Murg Makhani, Murgh Malai Kebab and much more.
