Kolam Air Panas Bentong Hot Spring

There are a few popular hot springs in Peninsula Malaysia and some of them are unknown. One of these hidden gems will be the Kolam Air Panas Bentong or the Bentong Hot Spring.

Located near the Karak highway, a few kilometres from the first Bentong exit, the Kolam Air Panas Bentong is quietly hidden and camouflages itself within the beautiful forest in Bentong.

Do not be surprise that this hot spring is FREE. Sadly, there is vandalism of the front entrance of the place.

There is a warning sign states that children are not allowed to bath in the pool and also there might have bacteria or parasite (prevention measures) in the pool and do not attempt to drink the pool’s water. In short, bath on your own risk.

Hot springs are believed to have minerals from underground. Hence many believe that hot spring has healing elements. That’s why hot spring in Japan is so popular.

There are a few gazebos inside and also man made hot spring pool. At a glance, the pool looks clean and neat.

The bubble area is the hot spot. That is where the hot underground water flows out.
It wasn’t the best day for us as it rain in the morning so the water was not that hot.

We were surprised that there were not many people as usually the crowd comes in during the evening before dinner.

We didn’t stay long as the water wasn’t that hot that day. We just dipped our legs into the pool and enjoyed the scenery there.

If you need a pit stop when you are traveling along Karak Highway or to avoid traffic jam, this could be an ideal place for you to embrace the nature of Bentong.

How to go to Kolam Air Panas Bentong Hot Spring:

Exit the first exit to Bentong (from Bukit Tinggi to Kuantan route). After exiting the highway you will reach a T junction, turn left and travel for a few kilometres and the hot spring will be located on the right hand side.
