House of Anvers Chocolate Factory Latrobe Tasmania
There is one chocolate factory in Tasmania that you must include in your itinerary. It is called the House of Anvers Chocolate Factory and it is located in Latrobe.
House of Anvers Chocolate Factory in Latrobe.
Anvers confectionery was established as a cottage industry in November 1989, by Igor Van Gerwen, who came to Australia from Belgium. Well, I met Igor and he was a humorous man saying that he used his chocolate skill to win the heart of his wife.
Igor and Cecilia from Hong Kong.
Igor claims to make the finest chocolate in Australia so the House of Chocolate is a feast for the senses. This is serious chocolate territory, with a tasting centre, the chance to watch chocolates being made and a museum that highlights why chocolate has always been so popular. The café offers French-style breakfasts, light Tasmanian lunches, and morning and afternoon tea.

For my understanding, an organised tour can be arranged by appointment for a minimum of 10 people, Monday to Friday, at a cost of $2.75 per person.

Their chocolate truffles are must try or must buy masterpieces. I bought a few boxes of them for my close family. If you are a chocolate lover, you must stop at House of Anvers Chocolate Factory. Trust me you won’t regret it!

The House of Anvers is open daily from 7am, 7 days a week.
