VietMac Review Hoan Kiem Hanoi Vietnam
VietMac Review Hoan Kiem Hanoi Vietnam
It was something interesting we stumbled upon or recommended by our homestay’s host in Hanoi. It is an intermarriage of McD and Vietnamese local food, it is called the VietMac.
We spotted one of them in the “old quarter” of Hanoi or better known as Hoan Kiem District. The restaurant was painted in red with its iconic cute Penguin logo.
We stepped in and greeted by the smiley waitress who conversed with us with Vietnamese (like many who mistaken us as Vietnamese). We looked through the menu and we ordered their popular beef and pork rice burger sets.
Our order came swiftly and we had two sets with Vietnamese Ice Milk Tea.
This was not French fries but instead it was strips of sweet potato. It took us by surprised too. It was crunchier and caramelized with sesame seeds. That was something new to us.
For the rice burgers, the rice buns were beautifully done. We had eaten some of the other versions and most of the rice buns were too either too soft or too small.
The pork rice burger was the combination of grilled pork patty, veggies (lettuce and onions) with chili sauce. Interestingly, the chilli sauce was salty.
For the beef rice burger, it came with grilled beef patty, lots of veggies. The beef rice burger was influenced with the Vietnamese flavour though. Most notable was the veggies.
Lastly, the Vietnamese Ice Milk Tea was similar to the Thai’s version. The taste was sweet with hints of tea. The bill came to 105,000 Dong, which was around US$ 5 or RM 15. So if you looking for a fast food with a taste of Vietnam, you can try VietMac for their delicious rice burgers!

That is wild! I love those curly straws too. I wish our burger joints had those…
